I'm currently an Equity Trader at William Hill / Caesars Sportsbook in Las Vegas, where I've spent the last two years building the data infrastructure behind pricing decisions — performance monitoring systems in Excel, Python, R, and Power BI that track KPIs across NBA, NFL, and NCAAF markets, and a comparative research pipeline that checks our lines against projections from top predictive thinktanks. That pipeline alone moved annual metrics 1–3% across three markets.

Before this, I was an HR Data Analyst at Nance Staffing, where I taught myself to think like an engineer as much as an analyst — writing Python scripts to automate quality control on 10,000+ monthly applicants, and designing the MySQL database architecture that made structured reporting possible in the first place. Before that database existed, this analysis didn't either.
Antes de esto, fui Analista de Datos de RR. None of this started with data, though. I studied Anthropology at UNC Greensboro, ran a small café in Greensboro for two years, then spent five years abroad in South Korea teaching English — first at Reading Town, then as Head Teacher at Lingua Academy. In between, I worked as a Case Aide at World Relief, helping resettled refugee families navigate the practical machinery of starting over: paperwork, appointments, service coordination, the day-to-day logistics of building a life in a new country. It's not the usual path into data analytics, but each step left something behind. Anthropology trained me to look for the pattern behind the behavior, not just the behavior itself. Teaching forced me to take something complex and make it click for someone starting from zero — the same skill that goes into explaining a model to a stakeholder who doesn't care how it works, only what it means. And case work meant every data point I touched was a person, not a row — a habit I haven't shaken since.
Sin embargo, nada de esto empezó con datos. Estudié Antropología en UNC Greensboro, dirigí un pequeño café en Greensboro durante dos años, y luego pasé cinco años en Corea del Sur enseñando inglés — primero en Reading Town, y después como Profesor Principal en Lingua Academy. En medio de todo eso, trabajé como Asistente de Casos en World Relief, ayudando a familias de refugiados reasentados a navegar la maquinaria práctica de empezar de nuevo: papeleo, citas, coordinación de servicios, la logística diaria de construir una vida en un país nuevo. No es el camino habitual hacia la analítica de datos, pero cada etapa dejó algo. La antropología me entrenó para buscar el patrón detrás del comportamiento, no solo el comportamiento en sí. Enseñar me obligó a tomar algo complejo y hacer que le hiciera clic a alguien que empezaba desde cero — la misma habilidad que se necesita para explicarle un modelo a alguien del negocio a quien no le importa cómo funciona, solo qué significa. Y el trabajo de casos significó que cada dato que toqué era una persona, no una fila — un hábito del que no me he desprendido desde entonces.
